Welcome to our third giveaway of 2022! Here is hoping by the time we do the draw on March 31st….spring will be on the horizon, if not already here. As mentioned in our previous blog, Supporting Local All Year Round , we will be highlighting a new local business every week of 2022. Every month we will do a draw to give the winner a $100 gift card to their business of choice from that month’s selection of business. We don’t want to just sell you homes, we know it is so important to know Ottawa like the back of our hands so we can sell you the perfect location and neighbourhood too. This is why we have decided to bring local businesses to the forefront this year. To enter, you simply need to subscribe to our newsletter. Just scroll to the bottom of this page for the subscribe field. Plus, you can find bonus ways to enter by following Barb and Carole on Instagram.

The first business we will be highlighting is Lollo. Located on George Street, this bright and sunny salad shop offers the most delicious salads, sandwiches, toasts, baked goods AND there is a wine shop right smack dab in the middle of it. What could be better? You can also take home salads, broths, dressings, baked goods and more. Friendly service, a beautiful atmosphere…this spot is one of Barb’s favourites.

Our second choice for March is Paper Papier, located on Clarence. A beautiful shop with a curated collection of paper, gift cards, gift wrap, home decor and more. You can get lost in this shop…in a good way!

Our third business, is again located right on George Street in the Byward Market. La Bottega Nicastro has strong roots in the community and has been a pillar of support for many regular customers during the pandemic. It is THE BEST spot for a sandwich or espresso…the best price for pasta and olive oil and other Italian staples…plus the frenetic atmosphere just makes you feel good!

Last but not least, we have The Milk Shop. This boutique is also located in the Byward Market and offers two floors of clothing, jewelry, accessories and home goods. Plus a lot of the designers they carry are Canadian! A bonus way to support small.
