Neighbourhood Highlight: Tweedsmuir on the Park

This is the first in our new series of “adult-lifestyle” communities. We chose this one to kick off this series because it truly is a haven for those wishing to downsize in both size of home and yard but not enjoyment of life! 

Nestled in Kanata Lakes and built in the early 2000s, this neighbourhood was built by Phoenix with the homes themselves designed by renowned Toronto architect Ken Viljoen. There are 133 semi-detached bungalows throughout two private streets – Kinmount Private and Goldora Private. They all have attractive curb appeal and landscaping with owners taking amazing care of their gardens. It’s really an amazing, well-cared for environment. The buildings are all freehold dwellings so do not have a high monthly condo fee that covers building maintenance – that remains the responsibility and choice of each owner. However, the buildings are grouped together in what is called a co-tenancy. On top of having all of these recreational and social activities right within this cozy community, Tweedsmuir on the Park is located within minutes walking, cycling or driving distance of banking, shopping, dining and entertainment amenities. The 417 is also just minutes away for easy commuting to the rest of Ottawa.
