McKellar Heights…not to be mistaken with McKellar Park…is a hidden gem of a neighbourhood in Central Ottawa. People move here and never leave so it is rare to have a house for sale in this area. Turns out though…we do! 1805 Kerr Avenue is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath bungalow which has been totally renovated top to bottom. Be sure to have a look and let us know what you think.

McKellar Heights is a small neighbourhood near Maitland Avenue on the south side of Carling Avenue. The amenities of this neighbourhood are what make it so special. A highlight is the Soloway Jewish Community Centre which is within walking distance of any home in the area. The center offers amazing programming for all ages such as swimming, reading, library groups, senior programs and more!

Other favourite amenities within walking distance include Produce Depot, where you can get THE best fish and seafood in Ottawa as well as Thyme & Again, which Carole says offers the best cup of coffee in the city.

Grocers, pharmacies, restaurants, medical clinics…all nearby. Plus you can reach Westboro in five minutes and the Ottawa River waterfront in five minutes. Need a commute route? The 417 is very easily accessible via Carling and Kirkwood OR Maitland Avenue. Public transport is abundant in this area as well.

575 people live in McKellar Heights so it has a real community feel. The majority of people are married with the largest demographic being between the ages of 30-45. There is a mix of young professionals along with some families and the majority of people own their homes as opposed to renting. The average household income is $111,754 per annum and 73% of people are employed outside of the home.

The vast majority of homes are detached, with some semi-detached homes as well and nearly all were built prior to 1960. A lot of the homes have been or are now being renovated as our listing at 1805 Kerr Avenue has been.
