Central Stittsville encompasses many well known Ottawa neighbourhoods such as Crossing Bridge and Amberwood, surrounded by the golf course. A lesser known one is Forest Creek…and the residents don’t mind that it’s kept a bit of a hidden gem. Quiet, tree lined streets with quick access to everyday amenities and green spaces are just a few reasons why this neighbourhood is so loved.

Demographics

There are approximately 800 residents with the Forest Creek neighbourhood boundaries. The majority of residents are married with children (69%) and the largest age group is between 45 to 75. The average household income is $175,000, well above the city average so it is an affluent area. 70% of the population has post secondary education with the majority working in the finance sector, as teachers and then in public service. There are quite a few single income households as well with a spouse staying home to work from the home.

Location & Amenities

Located just adjacent from the neighbourhoods of Amberwood & Wyldewood, this area has great access to amenities. The majority of homes were built in the 1990s and the vast majority are owned and therefore, not tenanted…a whopping 99%. The homes are 65% single family structures, with 29% being townhomes and 5% being semi-detached.

Community and Greenspaces:

There is a wonderful sense of community throughout Stittsville and Forest Creek is no different. Community services such as Cardel Rec Centre and the Ottawa Public Library are both right around the corner.

One of the largest advantages of this neighbourhood is the proximity to some of the best trail systems in the city including the Trans Canada Trail, just off Abbott Street. But there is also the Forest Creek Pathway which connects to a pond in Amberwood…scenic and peaceful and safe! Take a look at the photos below from a walk I took there before the snow arrived.

Does Forest Creek sound like a place you would like to live? Know someone who it may be perfect for? We have a rare opportunity to affordably own a detached bungalow with living entirely on the main level just around the corner from the above stunning trails! 30 Randall James Drive has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, amazing main floor laundry room, main floor family room and loads of potential.
