I just finished reading the book The Yellow Spruce by John Vaillant, available at Octopus Books in The Glebe. It was a real eye-opener about the lumber industry in Canada. It made me re-visit one of my favourite Ottawa stores to recommend to family, friends and clients.

Logs End is located on Iber Road, not far from our new listing at 30 Randall James Drive This is a very special spot that actually harvests wood from the bottom of the Ottawa River! The tv show On The Road Again did a piece on the company a few years ago which you can watch here.
This is not a new company…but it is one that many people are not familiar with. Their stunning hardwoods are absolute “stand-outs” in homes. There is no mistaking them in homes that I have seen for sale in Ottawa as they are so unique in the most positive sense. Rich and full of history, with nothing cookie-cutter about them.
What types of wood do they reclaim? A great selection including white oak, hickory, pine, birch, walnut, maple…. PLUS engineered hardwood as well. Not only does Logs End supply flooring but they also are THE spot to get reclaimed barnboard and beams, excellent for adding beautiful accents to your home and thus added value! Want wood vents, floor registers, custom mouldings that match your flooring? These and many more finishing pieces are available.
Drop in…. they would love to see you!
