Our amazing interior designer Lori Butler, of Lori Butler Home Staging and Design , has created a video of her fabulous front porch decor for us. I love seeing what Lori comes up with for every holiday from Thanksgiving to Halloween to Christmas to Easter…there’s never a dull moment on her porch! She’s also given some great tips so you can create your own perfect porch so be sure to read the tips below the video.

  1. Make your home’s exterior as festive as the inside. When decorating the exterior of your home for the holidays think beyond a few lights on a tree.
  2. Welcome guests with a front porch that is decked in bright lights. Cozy up some patio furniture with a throw blanket and pillows. Add a brilliantly lit evergreen tree on your porch and swap the skirt for a sturdier basket that won’t blow away in the wintery wind. You can also flank your front door with pretty packages for a vibrant burst of seasonal cheer.
  3. Add accents like vintage skates, snow shoes, blankets, pillows, shatter-proof ornaments, fresh or faux berries, pine cones, birch and dogwood and don’t forget a festive wreath for your door.
  4. Turn dormant garden planters into decoration spaces by adding fresh greenery such as sprigs of cedar, pine and berries. Or, add a festive glow by laying coiled white lights in the base of the planter. Then insert branches to create a bush like appearance. This is a good way use to older sets of lights that that may be difficult to untangle.
Be sure to share photos of your beautiful Christmas decor with us! We love inspiration for next year!
