Where to Donate Items so They Actually Go to Those in Need

What better time of year to be thinking of those in need than Christmas. And with the New Year upon us, many take this opportunity to “purge” their drawers and closets of items they do not use or do not need. But have you ever wondered if all of the stuff you drop for donation actually goes to those that need it?? We certainly do! So…we came up with a list of spots where you can be confident your donations are doing the most good they can. We strongly encourage you to add to this list if we are missing any. Clothing

WHAT: Gently used winter coats and snow suits for adults & children. Also accepts hats, mitts, knitted articles and boots

WHAT: Accepts summer & winter clothing for men, women and children as well as baby supplies and household items

Helping with Furniture

WHERE: 1455 Michael Street, Unit 3 – can also request pick up but the wait may be 2 to 3 months.

WHAT: Furniture, TVS, small appliances, window treatments, bed frames and box springs, twin mattresses less than 10 years old, queen and king mattresses less than 5 years old, tablets and laptops. See complete list.

WHAT: Visit their website for a list of what is accepted. Can arrange pickup from your house for a fee.
